Route : BJI --> Jalan Tun Sardon --> Balik Pulau --> Hillturn --> Balik Pulau --> Tun Sardon --> BJI
Riders : Freddy, Ang, Mei Ling
Ride distance : ~30km
Only 3 of us are able to make it for today's ride. It was very windy in the morning and the ride up Tun Sardon was no so smooth as the wind was blowing hard. As usual I struggled but was able to make it. Descending to Balik Pulau was fun with the strong breeze blowing in our face.
From Balik Pulau we head straight up to Hillturn. As I have never been up there, I was not sure what to expect. The initial trail up was relatively easy for me with beautiful trees and small streams along the way. As we ascend further, the trail gets tougher and tougher. I was really exhausted and have to push quite a distance before reaching our destination. As usual Ang & Mei Ling were way ahead of me and have no difficulties conquering the trail.
After a brief rest we decide to descend back to Balik Pulau. From Balik Pulau, our initial plan was to use the offroad trail up Bukit Nonya towards the View at Tun Sardon. But unfortunately, there were a group of hikers( >20hikers) hiking up that trail so we decide to use the Tun Sardon road instead.
As we were cycling up the raod we noticed Marshalls & Police Escorts riding pass up. We were not sure if there is any cycling activities but as we approach the View, few riders on road bikes overtook us and sprint for the Finishing line at the View.
As we reach the finishing line as well, spectators along the road seems surprised to see 3 riders on Mountain Bikes crossing the line 4th, 5th & 7th. But unfortunately there were no cheers for us...LOL....Nonetheless, we decide to continue to head back to BJI as the area was crowded.
